Terrova motors are a step-up from PowerDrive models and offer larger thrust options of 55, 80 and 112 lbs. While both models are compatible with AutoPilot/CoPilot/i-Pilot accessories, only the Terrova line offers the ability to use a foot pedal AND a wireless CoPilot or i-Pilot controller simultaneously.

Additional Information

Amperage Draw: 42 amps at maximum speed
Motor Run Time: Important Note: As you likely won't be running your trolling motor perpetually, the actual amount of on-the-water time a motor should allow will be substantially longer than times listed. Actual motor run time can vary depending on conditions (winds, waves, etc) and the type of battery used. Listed below are run-time estimates assuming a 100 amp hour rated battery. To learn more, please see our article on calculating motor run time.

  • 20 Hours: At slow, trolling speeds that draw 5 amps or less
  • 4.8 Hours: Approx. run time with throttle 50% open
  • 2.4 Hours: Approx. run time with the motor at full throttle
Stow and Deploy Method: PowerDrive's Deploy-Assist lever makes it easy to deploy the motor by squeezing a lever, raising the shaft and deploying it into the water. When not in use, the shaft and head can be quickly removed from the water and laid on the deck for storage.
Motor Steering Method: The motors is steered via the included foot pedal which can control motor speed and direction. If the CoPilot or i-Pilot accessories are purchased, PowerDrive V2 can also be controlled via wireless remote control. Note: If a CoPilot or i-Pilot wireless remote is installed, the foot pedal will NOT function. If you'd like to be able to use both a pedal and wireless remote simultaneously, you'll need to choose a Terrova motor.
Shaft Adjustment: An adjustable depth collar makes it easy to set how deep the shaft and propeller sit in the water.
Motor Speed: All PowerDrive V2 motors are variable speed. Learn more about fixed vs. variable speed motors.

16 ft Lund Rebel

Review by Fishin Magician
Overall Rating
I have a 1994 Lund Rebel Deluxe that was outfitted with a 42 lb Minn Kota Powerdrive V2 with autopilot that I have owned since it was brand new. Over the last 18 years, it has had countless hours of use and always worked flawlessly. However, last fall right before I store my boat for winter it finally died and I did not pursue any repairs as I felt it was time to replace. This spring I purchased a new Minn Kota Power Drive 45 from Trolling Motors.net and had a great purchase experience from initial questions all the way through shipping and receiving the actual motor. Their follow up was outstanding to make sure all was well. The new motor is an improvement over the old one as the secure-stow position is locked down tight with the locking release mechanism. I would definitely reccomend Minn Kota and TrollingMotors.net to anyone interested in purchasing a new trolling motor! (Written on 5/8/12) (Posted on November 14, 2012)
