|How It's Unique:||The Riptide SM line is a step-up from the Riptide SE trolling motor. Featuring a more powerful motor (up to 101 lbs) and an optional BowGuard mount with a beefy spring-protected shaft, the Riptide SM is built to stand the test of time. The motor is also available with a latch & door mount for easy motor removal.
The Minn Kota Riptide SF is a step-up from the Riptide SM as it features a super heavy-duty aluminum mono arm along with a stainless steel, nitrogen charged gas spring that makes stowing and deploying the motor similar to opening up the tailgate on an SUV. Consider the Riptide SF if you want the most heavy-duty trolling motor made.

Boston Whaler Montauk 17Review by Mr. Fred
Easy to follow instructions as too assembly and installation.
Once install complete a test run was performed, Had a vibration at high speed on impeller. I followed the trouble shouting guide and rotated the impeller 180 degrees which solved the problem.
The tiller handle is tight (hard) to move in/out of the stow position. But this should loosen over time with use.
For me the variable speed motor is the way to go. I love the reverse on this trolling motor as well.
Looking forward to many years of use.
