Additionally, Traxxis features an integrated battery meter that allows you to monitor the charge of your battery.

The Minn Kota Riptide Transom has similar features to the Traxxis, but is made for Saltwater use. The Riptide Transom is available in both variable and fixed speed versions.

Additional Information

Amperage Draw: 42 amps at maximum speed
Motor Run Time: Important Note: As you likely won't be running your trolling motor perpetually, the actual amount of on-the-water time a motor should allow will be substantial longer than times listed. Actual motor run time can vary depending on conditions (winds, waves, etc) and the type of battery used. Listed below are run-time estimates assuming a 100 amp hour rated battery. To learn more, please see our article on calculating motor run time.

  • 20+ Hours: At slow, trolling speeds that draw 5 amps or less
  • 4.8 Hours: Approx. run time with throttle 50% open
  • 2.4 Hours: Approx. run time with the motor at full throttle
Stow and Deploy Method: With a single hand, you can remove your motor from the water without needing to fuss with buttons, levers or locks. Pull the motor slightly up to disengage, then rotate back for convenient stowing.
Motor Steering Method: Steer the trolling motor with the included hand tiller. The Minn Kota Traxxis steering control lets you fine-tune the amount of play in the steering column. Want smooth steering for precise maneuvering? It's easy to dial the tension back using the tension collar. Need a more rigid steering column to maintain a course? Tighten down the collar to eliminate steering play and keep the motor in place. Riptide Transom's collar lets you customize tension for any situation, making motor operation more convenient.
Shaft Adjustment: Adjusting motor depth is fast and easy with the built-in Cam Depth Adjuster. Simply loosen the quick lock, adjust the motor shaft length, and re-tighten. The Depth Adjuster makes it possible to quickly change motor depth for varying water conditions.
Motor Speed: All Traxxis motors have a variable speed motor

The Traxxis 70 is a strong motor. I replaced a 55 Endura with it. The 24 V Traxxis is about 3 times as fast as the 55 12 v Endura. The one hand stow is nice. The mount/tilt mechanism is a little loose-feeling but seemed to work fine. All-in-all, It seems like a fine motor. (Posted on April 18, 2015)

Custom pontoon, 8nfoot wide by 14 foot long

When I got our pontoon boat last year we had great difficulty in using it on windy days on the lake. The canopy was like a sail and with the covered side rails and 6 people on board the 30 lb. thrust motor just was not powerful enough. The builder said that a 70 lb. thrust would solve the problem. What a change! With 6 adults out on the lake on a windy day the Traxxis 70 took us wherever we wanted to go with what seemed like no effort at all. Since I had just installed the Traxxis the day before I was not sure how my batteries would hold out. I used the digital readout several times and quickly began to relax. After several hours use we still had 80 % battery power left. I could not be more pleased with my new Minn Kota. (Posted on June 12, 2014)

The Minn Kota Traxxis 70 is a great transom mount trolling motor. I opted to get a 24 volt motor and I'm glad I did. It has plenty of power. The mount makes it easy to stow and deploy. Much better than the cheaper Endura motors. The telescoping and tilting handle makes it easy to steer from different positions. It even has a battery status monitor. I can troll most the day and still have battery life left. Trollingmotors.net was great. They had the best price I could find and offered free shipping also. It arrived quickly and I was off fishing in no time. I caught an 8 pound northern on my fist trip with it. I highly recommend trollingmotors.net. (Posted on March 1, 2014)
