If the transom of your boat is curved, you'll need a Minn Kota Talon mounting bracket in order to properly install your new anchoring system. The mounting adapters listed on this page are intended for use between a side mount and jack plate. All Talon Mounting Brackets are named according to this scheme:

S or P - Indicates Starboard or Port
L - Indicates the bracket has additionally long side clearance
T - Indicates bracket is for a non-jack mounting plate on Triton fiberglass bass boats
3, 6 or 9 - Indicates the length of the setback in inches
J - Indicates a Jack Plate Side Mount.
Example - Bracket Model 6PL : This model mounts Talon 6" back (6) from the transom, on the port side (P), with additional side clearance (L).
