Saltwater Sportfishing Trolling Motors
Selecting the Right Motor:Boat weight is the most important factor to consider to ensure your trolling motor provides ample power for your boat. While boat length recommendations are listed, they are for approximation purposes only.
Bow, Engine or Transom Mount: Bow mount motors are most popular among sport fishermen, especially on flat boats and those used in fairly shallow waters as they provide the most precise boat control. Engine mount trolling motors are often installed on mixed use center console boats where bow mount installations are difficult. Transom mount models are used primarily on smaller craft.
Designed to Resist Corrosion: All saltwater motors have a special protective coating designed to withstand corrosive saltwater conditions. Using a freshwater motor in saltwater will lead to premature motor corrosion and failure.
