Off-Shore Center Console Motors

Picking an Off-Shore Motor:

  • Powerful 80 to 100+ lbs motors are recommended due to powerful ocean currents, waves and weather conditions
  • Due to increased bow movement from winds/waves, long shafts are required to keep the prop submerged
  • A motor designed for saltwater use with a corrosion-resistant coating is a must

Center Console Thrust Selection

Please remember that boat weight is the most important criteria to use when selecting an appropriate motor size. Boat length is provided as a helpful guideline but should not be used as a primary determinant of motor size.  If you're unsure how much your boat weighs, you can look it up in the NADA boat directory.
