Your time on the water is sacred and you want to spend it hooking into serious fish, not wrestling with your trolling motor. Maybe you’re also getting a little older and you’ve finally earned the right to stop pulling your motor out of the water all day long. Or you simply want the best, most advanced product on the market. Whatever the case, the new Minn Kota Riptide Ulterra is revolutionary.
The Riptide Ulterra features innovative Automatic Stow/Deploy and Power Trim, along with the legendary i-Pilot control system, redesigned for 2017 to include more accurate GPS and additional functionality. Want to stow or deploy your motor? Push a button on the remote. Want to raise or lower the depth of your motor? Push a button. Want to “anchor” against the wind or current? Yep, just push a button! The features list goes on…
Make no mistake, we know a lot of us like things the old fashioned way, and when Minn Kota first released the Riptide Ulterra we had some doubts, concerned that the motor might have too many moving parts. But after testing the motor ourselves, and dozens of phone calls with early customers, we are excited to give it our full endorsement. The Riptide Ulterra is rugged and reliable with only a few moving parts where absolutely necessary. Minn Kota cut no corners, even using a kevlar belt and brass gearing in the power lift assembly.
Comes standard with i-Pilot or i-Pilot Link, Digital Maximizer, Heading Sensor, Bluetooth Smartphone App, Weedless Wedge 2 prop and a two-year warranty. To learn more, grab our FREE Trolling Motor Buyer's Guide.
Riptide Ulterra 112 Full Details
Large saltwater v-hull, flats, center console, and general fishing boats 25'+. The 112lbs thrust motor is recommended for boats weighing up to 5,500lbs. For more help picking the right thrust level - or to learn how much your boat weighs - please refer to our thrust guide.
How It's Unique
The Riptide Ulterra series is the flagship motor from Minn Kota and a step up from the Riptide Terrova line of motors. Only the Riptide Ulterra line offers Minn Kota's revolutionary new Auto Stow/Deploy and Power Trim technology. Additionally, the Riptide Ulterra comes standard with i-Pilot and is available in 80 or 112 lbs thrust. We recommend the Riptide Terrova trolling motor for fishermen who are looking for a top-shelf motor that is compatible with AutoPilot/CoPilot/i-Pilot/i-Pilot Link accessories but does not need Auto Stow/Deploy and Power Trim. Riptide ST is available in 55, 80 and 112 lb thrust levels.

This motor is bolted directly to the bow of the boat using the included mounting hardware, and requires drilling into the boat for installation. Ideally, it's best to have access to the underside of the mounting platform in order to secure and fasten the bolting hardware. However, if accessing the underside is impossible you can use no access bolts to secure the motor from the top. For more information see our compatibility and mounting guides or download motor installation instructions and heading sensor instructions. Quick Release Bracket for 60" shaft: RTA-17. For 72" shaft use: RTA-54.

Boston Whaler 270 Dauntless
First, I’ve had Minn Kota Trolling motors before and loved them. When I bought my new Whaler 270 Dauntless with the Pro-Angler Package, it came with a semi custom mount specifically for the MotorGuide Xi5. After many calls and deliberations, all said they thought it would be a lot of work to fit a MinnKota, so I went with the MotorGuide 72”/105. After a week with it, I returned it and bought the RipTide regardless of what it took to mount it. The RipTide is a Lamborghini compared to a Kia. Self deploy, AWESOME. Spotlock/jog, INCREDIBLE. Track recording, STUPENDOUS. Two Huge differences between the MotorGude and he MinnKota, first, have a screen on the controller to see what’s going on is indispensable. When you’re at the helm, being able to deploy and get underway, AND be able to see what exactly is going on via the controller is paramount. Second, the construction of not only the motor (does make it heavier for moving it around), but the quick disconnect mount are light years ahead. This trolling motor will absolutely change the way you fish.
ORDERED ON WEDNESDAY , HERE ON THURSDAY . COULD'NT ******* BELIEVE IT ! OUTSTANDING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS MOUNTED AND READY FOR SOME LiFePO BATTERIES . THEY WILL BE HERE SOON . THANK-YOU !

Just getting around to installing now. Batteries, breaker plug and heavy wiring done. No screws for compass provided and I’m confused about the mount as in one part of directions it shows a stiffener plate. Is my mount supposed to have the plate? Will review in detail as soon as installed.
Glad you found the plate! Thanks for your business.

Very prompt shipping. So far I love this motor. I’ve only used it about 2hrs so far, so I’m not up to speed on all of the functions yet. The primary reason that I bought this motor was for the anchor mode and auto deploy. My boat weighs around #4000 loaded. I anchored in 20 mph winds the other day and it held solid. No more hand pulling an anchor for me.
