Riptide Terrova QUEST (2027) Full Details
Recommended for:
Medium to large saltwater or freshwater Center Console, Deep-V, Pontoon, Fish N' Ski, Bay Boats and general fishing boats.
- When wired for 24v, you'll have 90 lbs of max thrust on tap which provides enough power for boats weighing up to 4,500 lbs.
- When wired for 36v, you'll have 115 lbs of max thrust which provides enough power for boats weighing up to 12,000 lbs.

How It's Unique
The Riptide Terrova QUEST uses Minn Kota's brushless, dual-voltage motor technology to deliver 90 lbs of maximum thrust on 24V or 115 lbs on 36V. Compared with conventional brushed motors, QUEST technology offers greater efficiency, torque and quieter operation.
New for 2027: The 60" and 72" models have a smaller mounting footprint, leaving more usable space on the bow. This is a model-specific improvement; the 87" and 100" versions should not be assumed to share the same compact mount.
The updated Advanced GPS system features improved Spot-Lock (up to a 50% tighter hold), Draw and Navigate, Follow Mode, Drift Mode and Intelligent Depth Control. QUEST also offers instant-response steering and real-time battery monitoring.

Mounting Details:
The Riptide Terrova QUEST mounts to the bow of your boat. Verify adequate deck space, mounting access and structural support before installation; reinforcement may be needed depending on your boat.
For removable mounting, the 2027 45", 60" and 72" models use the RTA-42 quick-release bracket; the 87" and 100" models use the RTA-83. Confirm the bracket specified for your exact SKU before ordering.
2027 mount update: The 60" and 72" versions have a smaller mounting footprint than the prior generation.
Motor Mount Dimensions:
Mount dimensions vary by shaft length. The 2027 60" and 72" models have a smaller footprint than the 2026 versions. Refer to the current 2027 mounting template for exact measurements.
Mounting Template and Motor Dimensions:
Refer to the current 2027 model installation drawing for footprint and bolt-pattern dimensions. Previous-generation dimension drawings may not apply to the redesigned 60" and 72" mounts.
Motor Voltage and Batteries:
The Riptide Terrova QUEST is a dual voltage (24v/36v) motor. Depending on the thrust requirements of your boat and fishing conditions you can wire this motor for 24v or 36v.
When wired to 2 x 12v deep cycle batteries (24v), the Riptide Terrova QUEST will provide up to 90 lbs max thrust. When wired to 3 x 12v deep cycle batteries (36v), this motor will provide up to 115 lbs max thrust.
The Riptide Terrova QUEST is compatible with Marine grade, Flooded Lead Acid, AGM and Lithium (LiFePO4) batteries (min 50AH rating). For more information on the proper batteries to purchase for your trolling motor, see our Trolling Motor Battery Selection Guide.
Motor Wiring Details:
The Riptide Terrova QUEST can be wired directly to the batteries or it can be used in conjunction with a trolling motor power plug and receptacle for a cleaner, more professional installation. If using a quick release bracket, a plug and receptacle like the Minn Kota MKR-28 will allow you to plug and unplug the motor for easy removal and re-mounting.
To protect your motor from control board damage installing a 60amp circuit breaker is highly recommended.
Shielded, marine grade wiring should be used to connect the motor to the power source (aka batteries!). To determine the appropriate gauge wiring download this circuit breaker and wiring table.

Stow and Deploy Method:
The Riptide Terrova QUEST has a one hand stow and deploy feature which is similar to a pendulum which reduces the effort required to stow/deploy the motor. A foot lever on the base of the motor unlocks the lift assist mechanism in order stow or deploy.
Motor Steering Method:
The motor is steered via the included Advanced GPS remote control and/or multi-function foot pedal. The Riptide Terrova QUEST can also connect (aka network) to compatible Humminbird fishfinders via an ethernet connection. This networking feature is part of Minn Kota's "One Boat Network" and allows you to control your motor directly from the Humminbird and tap in to additional auto-navigation and mapping features.

Shaft Adjustment:
