Perhaps you’re after bass. Or crappies. Or walleyes. Or maybe you just like sunset cruising in your pontoon boat. Whatever your pleasure, take a close look at the Minn Kota Terrova.
If Budweiser is the King of Beers, then the Terrova is the King of Trolling Motors. This incredible machine is far and away the most popular freshwater trolling motor on the market today. Fishermen love it for its reliability, its well-designed one-hand stow and deploy with Lift-Assist, and for the versatile features enabled by i-Pilot or i-Pilot Link such as “spot lock," "iTracks," and "jog." Redesigned for 2017 to include more accurate GPS and additional functionality.
We just love it because it sells itself. A quick Google search and you can spend your day reading endless positive reviews about the Terrova. Equally impressive is that more and more cable-steer guys are making the switch to this electric steer alternative. The responsive foot pedal teamed up with the intuitive i-Pilot remote makes this a compelling choice and enables you to fish in all sorts of interesting ways. Comes standard with a Wired Foot Pedal, Lift-Assist, Heading Sensor, Digital Maximizer, Weedless Wedge 2 prop and a two-year warranty. Also available with i-Pilot, i-Pilot Link, and US2 Sonar. To learn more, grab our FREE Trolling Motor Buyer's Guide.
IMPORTANT - 03/07/23: Minn Kota has notified us that Terrova models with standard i-Pilot will once again be packaged with Heading Sensors. Minn Kota is also shipping Heading Sensors to customers who received motors with redemption coupons and completed the registration process. Motors with the Micro Remote are still available in limited quantities.

Terrova 112 Full Details
Large freshwater v-hull, bass, and general fishing boats 25' or larger. The 112 lbs thrust motor is recommended for boats weighing up to 5,500lbs. For more help picking the right thrust level - or to learn how much your boat weighs - please refer to our thrust guide.
How It's Unique
The Terrova series is a step-up from the Powerdrive line of motors. While both models are compatible with AutoPilot/CoPilot/i-Pilot/i-Pilot Link accessories, only the Terrova line offers the ability to use a foot pedal AND a wireless CoPilot or i-Pilot controller simultaneously. Additionally, Terrova includes a unique mount that features an easy-to-use lever for one-hand stowing of the trolling motor and offers thrust options of 55, 80 and 112 lbs. For a better understanding of foot pedal compatibility, please see our Foot Pedal Compatibility Chart. For a comparison of Terrova and PowerDrive motors please see our Comparison Guide.
We recommend the PowerDrive trolling motor for fishermen who are looking for a value-priced motor that is compatible with CoPilot/i-Pilot/i-Pilot Link accessories and don't need to simultaneously control the motor with a foot pedal. PowerDrive is available in 45, 55 and 70 lb thrust levels.
Shaft lengths of 60" and 72" shaft are available for Terrova 112. For help selecting a shaft length, please see our shaft guide.

What's the difference between i-Pilot and i-Pilot Link?
This motor is bolted directly to the bow of the boat using the included mounting hardware, and requires drilling into the boat for installation. Ideally, it's best to have access to the underside of the mounting platform in order to secure and fasten the bolting hardware. However, if accessing the underside is impossible you may be able to use no access bolts to secure the motor from the top. Please note, Minn Kota is cautious about recommending no access bolts for 112 lb thrust motors due to the torque they produce and the potential for the motors to pull out. You may need to use an additional material such as Marine-Tex Epoxy or another solution entirely to ensure a solid installation. For more information see our compatibility and mounting guides or download motor installation instructions and heading sensor instructions.
13.94" length x 8.52" width
Terrova 112 can be wired directly to the batteries, and can also be used in conjunction with a plug and receptacle for a cleaner, more professional installation that's easy to remove. To protect your motor from damage, a circuit breaker is also recommended but is not required for installation.
Motor Voltage and Batteries:
Terrova 112 is a 36 volt motor and requires (3) 12-volt marine batteries. For more information, see our articles on battery selection or battery wiring diagrams.

Motor Run Time:
Important Note: As you likely won't be running your trolling motor perpetually, the actual amount of on-the-water time a motor should allow will be substantially longer than times listed. Actual motor run time can vary depending on conditions (winds, waves, etc) and the type of battery used. Listed below are run-time estimates assuming a 100 amp hour rated battery. To learn more, please see our article on calculating motor run time.
- 20+ Hours: At slow, trolling speeds that draw 5 amps or less
- 4.4 Hours: Approx. run time with throttle 50% open
- 2.2 Hours: Approx. run time with the motor at full throttle
Stow and Deploy Method:
Terrova's redesigned stow and deploy system includes a one hand (or foot) lever with a lift-assist mechanism that carries the weight of the motor. Simply push down on the lever and the motor easily stows.
Motor Steering Method:
The motors is steered via the included foot pedal which can control motor speed and direction. If the CoPilot or i-Pilot accessories are purchased, Terrova can also be controlled via wireless remote control. Note: If a CoPilot or i-Pilot wireless remote is installed, the foot pedal will function. The Terrova is the only Minn Kota motor that offers the ability to use a foot pedal AND a wireless CoPilot or i-Pilot controller simultaneously.
An adjustable depth collar makes it easy to set how deep the shaft and propeller sit in the water.
All Terrova motors have a variable speed motor. Learn more about fixed vs. variable speed motors.
The motor's composite shaft caries a lifetime guarantee. If it's ever broken - regardless of the circumstances - Minn Kota will replace it at no charge. The rest of the motor caries a two year warranty backed up by hundreds of local Minn Kota service centers across the country. View Details Here
