Designed specifically for Minn Kota Riptide Edge, Maxxum and Fortrex saltwater trolling motors, this quick release bracket is ultra-strong, corrosion-resistant, and has no sharp edges. Minn Kota RTA-19 | 1854019
Compatible with all Minn Kota Riptide Edge, Maxxum and Fortrex saltwater trolling motors
This quick release allows for easy, tool-free removal of the trolling motor from the deck. To attach the two parts of the quick release plate, simply set the large outer plate on top of the smaller inner plate and press the stainless steel "U" shaped handle through the side of the mounting plates and the outer metal pin. Once in place, you can run a padlock through the hole in the outer metal pin to prevent theft.
The top portion of the bracket bolts directly to the trolling motor. The bottom plate bolts directly to the deck of the boat. Drilling is required, and it's ideal if you have access to the underside of the bow mounting surface. If not, it's possible to use no access bolting nuts to secure the quick release bracket. Outer Plate: 19" L x 6" W x 1" H; Inner Plate (installed on the boat) 10" L x 3.75" W x 1" H Download Bolting Pattern
Riptide Fortrex, Maxxum and Edge Quick Release RTA-19 Reviews
Tracker Grizzly 1754 Jon
Fabulous online shopping experience. Selected RTA-19 because it mounts virtually hidden below Riptide Fortrex. I garage my boat so ease of motor removal was never factor. In my case inserting locking pin required subtle finesse and now permanate without enlarging holes. Lock pins can be reversed out anytime with punch/hammer just half inch, enough to grasp by hand. Details about my install result from arc in aluminum bow surface. RTA-19 did distort/flex by torque of four 1/4-20 bolts when mounted on my non perfect aluminum mounting plane surface. Would be issue for someone expecting ease of motor removal.
Outstanding products and service. Quick delivery. Extremely happy.

Recently installed a Minn Kota Riptide 80lb thrust trolling motor on the boat. Because we are a big family we will use the boat for many things including fishing. So we felt the quick release was essential. A bit daunting to install we finished off some coffee over the instructions and completed the install without a big problem. Now with a few fishing stories and a 4th of July trip without the Kota we know we did the right thing with the quick release...Thanks to Clayton this Minn Kota has given us a lot to be happy, happy, happy...

Great product that is easy to install and use. Allows you to easily and quickly remove the trolling motor for a clean deck for storage or for when your are out with the family joy riding. I did have to file the holes out a little because once mounted the holes did not line up perfectly. A chainsaw file made it a fairly easy fix. I also like how you can attach a lock to prevent theft. I could not be happier with this bracket. Ordering process was easy as well and delivery was fast. I would recommend this product and trollingmotors.net to anyone.
I just bought a new Frontier bay boat and needed to mount my new Minn Kota trolling motor. From experience, I knew that there would be days when I want to drift and fish, without ever using the trolling motor. So, I bought this product. I almost bought one for my old boat when I switched trolling motors, but decided not to for money saving. However, after not being able to remove my trolling motor easily, this time I decided to buy one and I'm glad I did. This item makes it very easy to remove the trolling motor with a moments notice. One word of caution: be sure not to bend the plate while mounting or the rods that go through the base plate will bind. What I mean is, don't tighten the base plate down so that it forms to a gunnel that is not perfectly flat. If you do, when you try to put the rod through the base plate, it won't go. But, it tells you that in the directions. As long as you use as directed, this product rocks!

This item made the mounting of the trolling motor much easier. It also makes in easier to lock the motor to the boat to prevent theft, as well as providing a quick and easy way to remove and store the motor. (Written on 4/5/11)
