Motor Run Time:
Important Note: As you likely won't be running your trolling motor perpetually, the actual amount of on-the-water time a motor should allow will be substantially longer than times listed. Actual motor run time can vary depending on conditions (winds, waves, etc) and the type of battery used. Listed below are run-time estimates assuming a 100 amp hour rated battery. To learn more, please see our article on calculating motor run time.
- 20+ Hours: At slow, trolling speeds that draw 5 amps or less
- 3.6 Hours: Approx. run time with throttle 50% open
- 1.8 Hours: Approx. run time with the motor at full throttle
Stow and Deploy Method:
With a single hand, you can remove your motor from the water without needing to fuss with buttons, levers or locks. Pull the motor slightly up to disengage, then rotate back for convenient stowing.
Motor Steering Method:
Steer the Riptide Transom with the included hand tiller. Riptide Transom's steering control lets you fine-tune the amount of play in the steering column. Want smooth steering for precise maneuvering? It's easy to dial the tension back using the tension collar. Need a more rigid steering column to maintain a course? Tighten down the collar to eliminate steering play and keep the motor in place. Riptide Transom's collar lets you customize tension for any situation, making motor operation more convenient.
Shaft Adjustment:
Adjusting motor depth is fast and easy with the built-in Cam Depth Adjuster. Simply loosen the quick lock, adjust the motor shaft length, and re-tighten. The Depth Adjuster makes it possible to quickly change motor depth for varying water conditions.

The Riptide Transom 80 is a variable speed motor
