The 2027 Riptide PowerDrive 55 continues that tradition with dependable 55 lb thrust, a saltwater-ready design and a more capable Advanced GPS trolling system—all at an approachable price.
The updated GPS system brings improved Spot-Lock positioning, Drift Mode to help manage your drift in wind and current, and Draw and Navigate for plotting a course on a compatible connected fishfinder. Intelligent Depth Control can alert you when the water gets shallow and, with compatible equipment, help protect your setup. Wireless connectivity with compatible Minn Kota fishfinders powered by Humminbird Imaging makes it easier to control the motor from your fishfinder, wireless remote or Minn Kota Fishing App. You can choose a 54" or 65" shaft with the Micro Remote, or a 54" shaft with the full-size wireless remote. Recommended for:

How It's Unique
Riptide PowerDrive combines electric steering and Advanced GPS boat control with Minn Kota's saltwater corrosion protection. The 2027 system adds improved Spot-Lock, Drift Mode, Draw and Navigate, Follow Mode and Intelligent Depth Control. Choose a compact Micro Remote or the full-size wireless remote, depending on your preferred controls.
The Riptide Terrova series offers additional thrust options and other features. If using a foot pedal alongside a wireless remote is important, compare those options before ordering.

Mounting Details:
This motor is bolted directly to the bow of the boat using the included mounting hardware, and requires drilling into the boat for installation. Ideally, it's best to have access to the underside of the mounting platform in order to secure and fasten the bolting hardware. However, if accessing the underside is impossible you can use no access bolts to secure the motor from the top. Wiring Details:
Riptide PowerDrive 55 can be wired directly to the batteries, and can also be used in conjunction with a plug and receptacle for a cleaner, more professional installation that's easy to remove. To protect your motor from damage, a circuit breaker is also recommended but is not required for installation.
Motor Voltage and Batteries:

What Is Included:

What Else Is Required:

Amperage Draw:
Maximum amperage draw for the 2027 model requires confirmation from Minn Kota.
Motor Run Time:
Run time varies with battery capacity and condition, motor speed, boat load, wind, waves and current. For example, a 100 Ah battery can theoretically supply 5 amps for 20 hours before accounting for usable capacity and other losses. Actual time on the water will vary substantially. Stow and Deploy Method:
Riptide PowerDrive's Deploy-Assist lever makes it easy to deploy the motor by squeezing a lever, raising the shaft and deploying it into the water. When not in use, the shaft and head can be quickly removed from the water and laid on the deck for storage.
Motor Steering Method:
Steer and adjust speed using the included Micro Remote or full-size wireless remote (depending on configuration). The 2027 system also supports control through compatible connected fishfinders and the Minn Kota Fishing App. A foot pedal is not included with these configurations.
Shaft Adjustment:
An adjustable depth collar makes it easy to set how deep the shaft and propeller sit in the water.
