The 2027 Riptide PowerDrive 70 builds on that history with updated Advanced GPS boat control, wireless integration with compatible Minn Kota fish finders powered by Humminbird Imaging, and the saltwater durability that has made the Riptide series a favorite for bay boats, flats boats and center consoles. With 70 lbs of thrust and a 24-volt brushed motor, it delivers plenty of capability without the price of a larger premium motor.
The 2027 Riptide PowerDrive 70 makes it easier to hold position, follow a route or manage a controlled drift. Improved Spot-Lock offers up to a 50% tighter hold under suitable conditions, while Drift Mode, Follow Mode, Draw and Navigate and Intelligent Depth Control add useful ways to manage your boat. Select a 54-inch model with either the compact Micro Remote or full-size wireless remote. Recommended for:
Small to medium saltwater v-hull, flats, center console and general fishing boats. The 70 lbs thrust motor can be a good fit for boats weighing up to approximately 3,500 lbs under favorable conditions; actual needs depend on boat weight, wind and current. How It's Unique
Riptide PowerDrive combines saltwater protection with electric steering and Advanced GPS boat control. The 2027 system adds improved Spot-Lock, Drift Mode, Follow Mode, Draw and Navigate and Intelligent Depth Control. Draw and Navigate requires a compatible connected Minn Kota fish finder. Wireless connectivity lets you control compatible functions from the fish finder, wireless remote or Minn Kota Fishing App.

Mounting Details:
This motor is bolted directly to the bow of the boat using the included mounting hardware, and requires drilling into the boat for installation. Ideally, it's best to have access to the underside of the mounting platform in order to secure and fasten the bolting hardware. However, if accessing the underside is impossible you can use no access bolts to secure the motor from the top. Wiring Details:
Riptide PowerDrive 70 can be wired directly to the batteries, and can also be used in conjunction with a plug and receptacle for a cleaner, more professional installation that's easy to remove. To protect your motor from damage, a circuit breaker is also recommended but is not required for installation.
Motor Voltage and Batteries:
Riptide PowerDrive 70 is a 24-volt motor and requires two 12-volt marine deep-cycle batteries wired in series, or one compatible 24V marine lithium battery. See our guides to battery selection and 24V battery wiring.

Not applicable. No foot pedal is included with these Advanced GPS configurations.

Amperage Draw:
Previous-generation specification: 42 amps at maximum speed. Verify the 2027 maximum draw before using this figure for wiring calculations.
Motor Run Time:
Run time depends on battery capacity and chemistry, boat weight, throttle setting, wind, waves and current. A motor running continuously at full power will drain its batteries much faster than one used intermittently for positioning or slow trolling. Stow and Deploy Method:
Riptide PowerDrive's Deploy-Assist lever makes it easy to deploy the motor by squeezing a lever, raising the shaft and deploying it into the water. When not in use, the shaft and head can be quickly removed from the water and laid on the deck for storage.
Motor Steering Method:
Steer and control motor speed with the included Micro Remote or full-size wireless remote, depending on the configuration selected. Compatible connected Minn Kota fish finders powered by Humminbird Imaging and the Minn Kota Fishing App also offer supported control functions. A foot pedal is not included and cannot be used simultaneously with the Advanced GPS wireless-remote system. For a motor offering simultaneous pedal and remote operation, consider Riptide Terrova.
Shaft Adjustment:
An adjustable depth collar makes it easy to set how deep the shaft and propeller sit in the water.
