The QUEST Series dual-voltage brushless motor delivers up to 90 lbs of thrust at 24V or 115 lbs at 36V. Minn Kota rates QUEST technology for 50% more torque and 30% longer run time compared with its referenced conventional motor technology. Automatic stow, deploy and trim make adjustments simple.
The updated Advanced GPS system offers improved Spot-Lock positioning (up to a 50% tighter hold), Draw and Navigate, Follow Mode, Drift Mode and Intelligent Depth Control. Instant-response steering and the QUEST foot pedal give you precise control, while compatible Minn Kota fish finders powered by Humminbird Imaging can connect wirelessly for an integrated fishing system.

Ulterra QUEST (2027) Full Details
Recommended for:
Medium to large freshwater Center Console, Deep-V, Pontoon, Fish N' Ski, Bay Boats and general fishing boats.
- When wired for 24v, you'll have 90 lbs of max thrust on tap which provides enough power for boats weighing up to 4,500 lbs.
- When wired for 36v, you'll have 115 lbs of max thrust which provides enough power for boats weighing up to 10,000 lbs.
However, fishing conditions, hull design/shape and intended use all have a significant impact on calculating the appropriate amount of thrust for your boat. For more help determining the right thrust for your boat please refer to our Trolling Motor Thrust Guide.
How It's Unique
The Ulterra QUEST is a more advanced and powerful version of the "brushed" (aka "permanent magnet") Ulterra motors.
The most significant difference between the Ulterra and the Ulterra QUEST is the actual motor itself. The Ulterra QUEST has a brushless "dual voltage" motor. Dual voltage motors offer you a choice between wiring the motor for 24v producing 90 lbs max thrust OR 36v producing 115 lbs. of max thrust.
Brushless motors such as the QUEST series motors are quieter, more efficient and more powerful than traditional permanent magnet motors in the standard Ulterra. Brushless motors also produce less friction and heat which typically prolong the lifespan of the motor.
Ulterra QUEST also has Minn Kota's latest "worm drive" auto-stow and deploy mechanism which is more powerful, smoother and more reliable than the belt drive system in the standard Ulterra

Mounting Details:
This motor is bolted directly to the bow of the boat using the included mounting hardware, and requires drilling 6 bolts into the hull for installation. Ideally, it's best to have access to the underside of the mounting platform in order to secure and fasten the bolting hardware.
Due to the weight and torque of the Ulterra QUEST, deck reinforcement may be required. Minn Kota lists the MKA-86 reinforcement kit for the 2027 Q2 models. Confirm mounting requirements for your boat before installation.
For easier removal, Minn Kota lists the MKA-84 composite quick-release bracket and MKA-85 aluminum quick-release bracket for 2027 Ulterra QUEST Q2 models. Confirm compatibility before ordering.

Motor Voltage and Batteries:
The Ulterra QUEST is a dual voltage (24v/36v) motor. Depending on the thrust requirements of your boat and fishing conditions you can wire this motor for 24v or 36v. When wired to 2 x 12v deep cycle batteries (24v), the The Ulterra QUEST will provide up to 90 lbs max thrust. When wired to 3 x 12v deep cycle batteries, this motor will provide up to 115 lbs max thrust. Motor Wiring Details:
The Ulterra QUEST can be wired directly to the batteries or it can be used in conjunction with a plug and receptacle for a cleaner, more professional installation. If using a quick release bracket, a plug and receptacle like the Minn Kota MKR-28 will allow you to plug and unplug the motor for easy removal and re-mounting.
To protect your motor from control board damage installing a 60amp circuit breaker is highly recommended.
Shielded, marine grade wiring should be used to connect the motor to the power source (aka batteries!). To determine the appropriate gauge wiring download this circuit breaker and wiring table.

Stow and Deploy Method:
The Ulterra QUEST is an auto-stow and deploy motor. With just the push of a button on the wireless remote, the foot pedal (or even your phone!) you can remotely raise and lower the motor. The power trim feature also allows you to adjust the prop height to optimal depth.
Motor Steering Method:
Steer the motor using its wireless remote or instant-response foot pedal. Compatible Minn Kota fish finders powered by Humminbird Imaging can connect wirelessly to access integrated navigation and boat-control functions. Compatibility varies by fish finder.

Shaft Adjustment:
